May 23rd, 2021 - New Church-wide Bible Study: Book of Acts

Updated: May 13

Hello church,

We are back with our church-wide Bible study. This time we are going deeper in the book of Acts and follow disciples after Pentecost, when they received the Holy Spirt and God led them to His mission field.

This is a very easy way how to get deeper in the Word of God and benefit from the understanding and application of it.

When does it start? Our church wide Bible Study launches on Sunday May 23 and continue during Summer.

What are we going to study? The book of Acts. The name of the study is BE DYNAMIC and it’s based on the book written by Warren Wiersbe.

Why Acts? The reason is that many believers don’t understand what church is. They think it is a place to go or a place that offers different spiritual services. These people often use church to satisfy their needs but are not involved in her mission. But the church is not a building or a geographical location. The church at its inception was, essentially, a movement… built around conviction that Jesus had died as the only Savior for sinners and that He had risen from the dead proving that He was God, and all people were now commanded to repent and invited to come home to him. In the Greek New Testament, the word “church” is translated as “ekklesia” which literally means, “an assembly,” or “a gathering” of people around an idea. In fact, if you break this word down, it comes from “ek” which means “out of” and “kaleo” means “called out.” So, an ekklesia is an assembly of people called out to share the Gospel.

This is very important to understand if we want to move forward as a congregation in our mission to lead people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and then reach out our community for Christ.

Saying this, I encourage every single member of our church to be part of this study.

How does the study work? It’s very easy. Like 1-2-3. 1. WATCH – Every Sunday you watch the sermon and then you have a week to read a chapter or two from the book “Be Free”. 2. ANSWER – At the end of each chapter there are questions that you will answer (we encourage you to write them down in the book). 3. DISCUSS – After you are done, you will share them with your accountability friend (someone you read this book with and share ideas).

Who should be my accountability partner and why do I need one? You will see in this study how important is an accountability partner in the mission of God. Even Paul had one. So please you also find one. It could be your friend who is searching for answers in faith; it can be your spouse; your friend from church; your family member; your co-worker; whoever is interested to study this book with you.

This is a great opportunity to lead someone else to a deeper relationship with our Lord. And you grow much faster if you not only listen and read but also discuss God’s Word.
